RETURN POLICY

Our return policy is simple: we will take back most items for any reason within 30 days of purchase for your original purchase price, minus a 15% restocking fee (minimum restocking fee is $15). Shipping charges are not refundable. No return will be accepted without a Return Authorization Number, which will be provide upon request. You are responsible for all return shipping charges and weaKnees will assess charges in addition to the standard restocking fee for packages that are refused. All items must be in as-new condition and be returned in the original packaging complete with all components. We do not take returns on ANY activated DirecTV equipment or on Special Orders. Merchandise that arrives damaged will be exchanged at no cost provided we are notified immediately (within 48 hours) upon receipt of damaged merchandise. If a coupon or discount was applied to an order, the amount of the restocking fee will be calculated using the full price of the product, before the coupon was applied. Return credit will be provided in the same manner as the original payment. Please allow 30 days for your return to be credited to your account. In some cases, credit card processors may take additional time to process the credit.

If product that you receive arrives damaged, you must notify weaKnees within 48 hours, and we will gladly arrange to have the product replaced. Restocking fees will NOT be waived for returns of damaged merchandise.

We will not accept returns of a TiVo DVR (upgraded or not) if you have opened the lid, even if you have purchased an upgrade drive from weaKnees to install in a DVR purchased from weaKnees.

Items unavailable for return: (1) Special order items, (2) DIRECTV receivers of any type are not returnable once they have been activated with DIRECTV, (3) DIRECTV dishes, (4) weaKnees gift certificates and (5) services (repair/labor services, unless otherwise specified).

WeaKnees is not responsible for any currency variations on sales outside the US.

Order Cancellations -- IMPORTANT FOR PAYPAL AND AMERICAN EXPRESS PAYMENTS

Once an order has been placed, we consider it to be non-cancelable and non-changeable. We take every effort to ship orders as fast as possible and once an order is received, it is dispatched to our shipping department immediately. In rare cases, we are able to cancel orders. In those cases, we will issue a refund, subject to the following: 1) prepaid shipping labels are never refundable or cancelable; and 2) if the payment method is American Express or PayPal, we will charge a 3% cancellation fee.

WARRANTY

We guarantee that our upgrade kits will work if installed properly in a functioning unit. If any of our drives (or any part included with a hard drive upgrade kit) should fail in the first six months, we will replace the drive or part at no cost (customer pays shipping to get the drive or part to us). We are also happy to provide email and phone support to help you through the upgrade process, and our instructions were painstakingly drafted to make the process simple. The foregoing warranty covers all parts included as part of a hard drive upgrade kit for a period of six months.*

All of our standalone, un-upgraded DVRs come with the standard manufacturer's warranty, typically 90 day unless otherwise stated. Refurbished DIRECTV DVRs with TiVo come with a 6-month warranty from weaKnees. If you find that your factory DVR (without a DIRECTV integrated receiver) is dead on arrival (DOA), we will either exchange it or help you through the exchange process with the manufacturer.* If you find that your factory DIRECTV receiver (with or without a DVR) is dead on arrival (DOA), you can return it to weaKnees for exchange within 30-days only if the unit has NOT been activated. Once the unit has been activated with DIRECTV, weaKnees cannot accept the receiver back for return or exchange. No exceptions.*

Unless otherwise noted, new upgraded TiVos come with a one-year parts warranty and a six month parts and labor warranty (with the customer paying shipping on any necessary repair, and paying labor on repairs after six months).

Our flat-fee repair service and high definition DVR repair service include a 90-day warranty. The 90-day warranty covers any hard drive installed as part of the repair.

All remote controls have a 30-day warranty. Many of our newly-installed DVR hard drives come with a full manufacturer's warranty, which is generally one to three years. Some of our lower-capacity (80GB, 120GB, 500GB, 1TB) drive kits use OEM drives, which have our six-month warranty only.*

Opening any DVR or AppleTV unit (other than a bare DIRECTV TiVo chassis purchased from us without a hard drive) voids any and all warranties.

Our philosophy regarding warranties generally: Being without a DVR is a terrible thing. Therefore, we spend a great deal of time testing our hard drives and upgraded DVRs before we sell them, so that our customers do not have problems down the road.

Finally, we hope all DVR users (customers and others) will use the helpful information we provide here to help protect their DVRs from the biggest sources of potential problems.

*All warranties are limited and do not cover, among other things, accidental damage, misuse, improper care or alteration, or acts of God, such as lightning strikes. Drive warranties do not cover mishandling of hard drives. All warranties commence on the purchase date and are not renewed if service is provided (or if a product is replaced) during the warranty period. DVR units (including DirecTV/TiVo units) are covered under the same terms as the limited warranty included with the unit, but the length of the warranty is as stated above. For a problem to be covered under warranty, weaKnees must receive and verify the covered problem within the warranty period or, if a problem arises immediately prior to the end of the warranty period, weaKnees may, in its sole and absolute discretion, extend a warranty by a short period to enable a product to be shipped to weaKnees for repair. If a problem is covered under warranty, weaKnees will pay shipping charges from us back to you (via surface transportation) within the continental United States. Customers outside of this region will be required to pay all shipping charges (to and from weaKnees) in the event of a problem, even if the problem is covered under warranty. weaKnees is not responsible for any data on your component or on your component's hard drives, and warranty coverage does not include saving data. weaKnees makes no warranty or guarantee whatsoever relating to data or data recovery. weaKnees also makes no warranty about the future usability of units, upgraded or otherwise. Software updates, changes in broadcast formats can affect the way your DVR or AppleTV performs and weaKnees makes nor representation or warranty regarding the impact of these changes on your DVR performs or will perform. weaKnees also makes no representation or warranty regarding the continued existence (or loss) of features now or in the future.

THIS WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESSED, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. WEAKNEES SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS AS TO THE PRODUCTS OR ANY OTHER MATTER WHATSOEVER. IN PARTICULAR, BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION, WEAKNEES SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO, AND WEAKNEES MAKES NO WARRANTY WITH REGARD TO, ANY PRODUCT ("COVERED PRODUCT") OR OTHER COMPONENT ORIGINALLY SOLD AS AN INTEGRATED COMPONENT OF A SYSTEM NOT SUPPLIED BY WEAKNEES. WEAKNEES IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, UNFORSEEABLE, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES HOWEVER CAUSED AND WHETHER OR NOT WEAKNEES WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, COSTS OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITURE GOODS, LOSS OF DATA OR PROGRAMS, LOST PROFITS, DOWNTIME, GOODWILL, DAMAGE OR REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY, AND ANY COSTS OF RECOVERING, PROGRAMMING OR REPRODUCING ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH WEAKNEES PRODUCTS OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE PURCHASE, USE OR PERFORMANCE OF THE COVERED PRODUCT. WeaKnees is not, and cannot be, responsible for any losses or damages arising out of any loss of, or any inability to access, data as a result from the failure of a Covered Product. The allocation of risk under this limitation of liability is reflected in the purchase price of the Covered Product.
