HR21P (HR21 Pro) Overheating (Fans Not Spinning) Repair
There is a known problem with the HR21P (HR21 Pro) HD DIRECTV DVR.
If you have this problem, your HR21 Pro will shut down for overheating,
and you will notice that the two fans in the back of your unit no
longer spin.
The only way to repair this problem is through a motherboard repair.
The cost of the repair is $179, including free shipping from us
back to you. Turnaround time is roughly 1-3 business days.

Here's how the repair process works:
- Add the repair service to your cart and check out.
- Once we receive your order, we will email shipping instructions
(what, where and how to ship your DVR, as well as a repair authorization
number). You are responsible for shipping the unit to us; we will
cover the return ground shipping costs. (Please use good padding
if you don't have the original box!)
- We receive the unit, confirm the problem, repair it and return
the unit to you. This process typically takes about 1-3 business
days. We will email the UPS tracking number on the evening that
the repair is complete. If at any time you'd like a status update
on your repair, simply email us with
your repair authorization number and a request for the status
of your repair.
- NOTE: Weaknees is an authorized DIRECTV dealer, but NOT an authorized
repair center. While we have been selling and repairing TiVo DVRs
since 2000 and have countless
satisfied customers, our repairs are not approved, authorized,
or otherwise warranted by DIRECTV. If your unit is less than a
year old and is still under warranty from DIRECTV, our repair
work may void your remaining DIRECTV warranty.
*DirecTV DVRs and Series3 TiVos (in HD) record digital broadcast streams and all compression is determined by the broadcaster, so hours stated are estimates assuming average compression. Standard Definition TiVo DVR and TiVo Upgrade Kit capacities are stated at Basic Quality. All capacities may vary due to hard drive models used. Capacities are guaranteed to be within 5% larger
